about
who we work with - partners in success
Our ever-growing roster of local, national and international clients range from business start-ups to multi-nationals. From producing a simple graphic, to designing and implementing cross-media brand identity programmes, we’ve worked successfully over a wide range of sectors for over 12 years. Our expertise has become an essential ingredient in our client’s ongoing success - here’s a selection of those we’ve helped:
pricing - transparency throught
In tough economic times, clarity when budgeting is essential. Unfortunately, clients often find budgeting for design difficult as costs are not clearly outlined. Our policy of being up-front about pricing is very rarely seen in the design sector and is a distinct point of difference between Tristan Green Design and our many competitors. By being transparent with pricing, we give you complete control over a project’s costs, from beginning to end.
You want to make an investment in design that will show a tangible commercial return. From the outset, we discuss what we would consider what’s ‘best value’ for the spend - what would represent the greatest return in maximising your organisations’s potential. We present our costs breakdown simply and clearly, so that you know that your budget is being used most effectively.
We charge a standard hourly rate (dependent upon the specialist used), offering excellent value for money to a structured and agreed timetable, where each stage is accepted and signed off by you. Any additional requirements you may have are priced accordingly and invoiced separately to keep everything nice and simple.
We don’t shy away from presenting our costs clearly as we’ve got nothing to hide. Our project terms are always the same - payments are split into three equal parts: the first after our proposals are accepted, the second after the finalised designs have been accepted and signed-off by you and the third upon successful delivery / uploading. Printing costs are paid in two parts: one after the proofs are accepted and signed-off by you and the second upon successful delivery. Now that’s one less thing to worry about.
why design? the value of design to business
‘91% of rapidly growing businesses are using design, compared with 49% of companies overall. Companies who said they’d grown rapidly over the last 12 months rate design highest of all, with 71% saying it was integral or significant... compared to an overall national average of 41%.’
Design Council research, 2007.
In a challenging global economic climate, the need to stand out from the competition by adding value becomes ever more acute. Using design is a highly cost effective excellent way of achieving this, as design can help organisations achieve real competitive advantage when used as part of their strategy to communicate with their audience.
Many organisations, small and medium sized in particular, are realising the need to base their competitiveness on far surer foundations than by simply competing on cost alone. Here’s why:
‘Design is an investment, not a cost. It is a continuous thought provoking process that effects every part of the business.’
Steven Byres, Managing Director, Ritec International. Design in Business Week, 2006.
‘Two thirds of companies who ignore design have to compete mainly on price. In companies where design is integral, just one third do so.’
‘More than eight out of ten design-led companies have introduced a new product or service in the last three years, compared to just 40 per cent of UK companies overall.’
Data from the Design Council National Survey of Firms 2005.
‘Design is integral to 39% of rapidly growing companies but to only 7% of static ones.’
‘83% of companies in which design is integral have seen their market share increase, compared to the UK average of 46%.’
‘80% of design-led businesses have opened up new markets in the last three years. Only 42% of UK businesses overall have done so.’
‘A business that increases its investment in design is more than twice as likely to see its turnover grow as a business that does not do so.’
Data from the Design Council National Survey of Firms 2005.
‘34% of businesses that see design as integral or significant say added value has had a great impact on their turnover. Where design plays only a limited role, the proportion is just 21%.’
‘Businesses that add a lot of value are half as likely to compete on price and more than twice as likely to compete on innovation as businesses that rely on their core product or service.’
‘Fast-growing businesses see design as the second most important ingredient of success, while for companies overall it ranks a lowly seventh.’
Data from the Design Council Added Value Research 2007.

We take the myth and mystery out of the design process, creating an essential link between organisations and their audiences. Our philosophy is simple: we offer consistently innovative, highly effective design solutions, whatever your sector, whatever your needs with clear costings and transparency throughout, we keep you ‘in the know’.
Many so-called ‘design consultancies’ are quantity led, hurriedly developing designs that do little more than create the expected after spending the minimum amount of time possible getting to understand your organisations unique problems and unique opportunities. Much of their aptitude lies in baffling clients into accepting their preferred ‘solutions’ as they simply don‘t possess the specialist skills necessary to adequately resolve your design requirements effectively.
This is not just a huge missed opportunity for your organisation, but will effectively stifle your brand’s potential long into the future. In today’s challenging global marketplace, a brand not maximising its potential in an innovative way will be easily outshone by its more progressive competitors.
At Tristan Green Design we take great pride in our committed, professional and personal service - we work with you, not just for you. We believe that great business communications shouldn't just belong to global brands - you may have realistic budgets but that certainly doesn't mean you have to settle for anything less than the most innovative, effective design solutions.
Increasingly, organisations are realising the substantial cost benefits of using adesign consultancy without costly central London premesis. By offering a highly experienced, specialised team of experts working remotely much of the time, yet in constant communication with our Creative Director, we make the most of the continual advances in technology so that you don’t have to pay for baggage you simply don’t need. And because we’re small, you’re assured of our best attention at all times - it really is the best of both worlds.
